Fostering Leadership Across Systems in Health (FLASH)

The FLASH program aims to enhance the confidence and capability of healthcare leaders to undertake leadership roles and drive positive change in the healthcare system. It recognises that effective clinical leadership is closely linked to patient safety and other quality outcomes.

Developed by clinicians for clinicians, this interactive program is based on the Australian Health Leadership LEADS Framework.

Since the inception of FLASH, I have been part of the teaching faculty as the professional coach for doctors, as well as responsible for the well-being theme of the program, helping participants build their 'self-care toolkit' for leadership.


“Sonja Cronjé has been an integral founder, teacher and coach on our leadership program for health professionals (Fostering Leadership Across Systems in Health, FLASH) within the Western Sydney Local Health District. Sonja’s expertise and skill set have proved instrumental to the success of our award-winning program since 2021, in particular for our medical participants (doctors) who are all offered coaching by Sonja.

Given my own experience in healthcare leadership, I have a passion for helping others to develop their identity as a leader. When you don't have a strong sense of who you are (not just in your profession but as an individual), you're more susceptible to people-pleasing tendencies and imposter syndrome. I love helping my clients to tap into their unique superpowers so they can lead with authenticity while remaining true to themselves.
